D&C 19:38–39. 38Pray always, and I will pour out my Spirit upon you, and great shall be your blessing—yea, even more than if you should obtain treasures of earth and corruptibleness to the extent thereof. 39Behold, canst thou read this without rejoicing and lifting up thy heart for gladness?
Jesus Christ asks us to pray always. Carry a prayer in your heart today, thanking Heavenly Father for your blessings.

John 13:34–35. 34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have alove one to another.
We show that we want to follow Jesus Christ when we love other people. Show your love to your parents by helping without being asked.

Luke 17:11–19. 11¶And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Jesus Christ praised the leper who returned to thank Him. Write a note or draw a picture to thank someone who has helped you.

D&C 33:11–12.
11Yea, repent and be baptized, every one of you, for a remission of your sins; yea, be baptized even by water, and then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost.
12Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and remember that they shall have faith in me or they can in nowise be saved
Jesus taught the principles of His gospel. Memorize and recite the fourth Article of Faith. 4We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

D&C 21:1, 4–5. 1Behold, there shall be a record kept among you; and in it thou shalt be called a seer, a translator, a prophet, an apostle of Jesus Christ, an elder of the church through the will of God the Father, and the grace of your Lord Jesus Christ, 4Wherefore, meaning the church, thou shalt give heed unto all his words and commandments which he shall give unto you as he receiveth them, walking in all holiness before me; 5For his word ye shall receive, as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith
Our prophet tells us what Jesus Christ wants us to do. Talk with a parent about President Gordon B. Hinckley’s counsel from the last general conference.
December 21
D&C 25:12. 12For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads
With your family or friends, sing Christmas songs about Jesus. (See Hymns, numbers 201–214; Children’s Songbook, pages 34–55.)

December 14:
Mark 10:13–14. 13¶And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Jesus showed that children are very important to Him. In your personal prayer, tell Heavenly Father about your day and the things that made you happy.
December 15:
D&C 1:37. 37Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful, and the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled
Jesus counseled Latter-day Saints to study His commandments. Think of one commandment you keep and one blessing that you enjoy.

December 10:
3 Ne. 27:29. Therefore, ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

December 11:
D&C 89:10–11, 18–20. 10And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man— 11Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving. 18And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones;19And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures; 20And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint.
Jesus Christ revealed the Word of Wisdom to help us to be healthy. Today, choose only foods that will make your body strong, and thank Heavenly Father for them.
December 12:
Matt. 22:34–40. 34¶But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Jesus Christ taught us to love our neighbors. Work with your family to do something nice for a neighbor.
December 13:
3 Ne. 25:5–6. 5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;
6And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
Jesus said that the hearts of children should turn to their parents. Ask your parents or grandparents to tell you about Christmases when they were young.

3 Ne. 17:21–24. 21And when he had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them. 22And when he had done this he wept again; 23And he spake unto the multitude, and said unto them: Behold your little ones. 24And as they looked to behold they cast their eyes towards heaven, and they saw the heavens open, and they saw angels descending out of heaven as it were in the midst of fire; and they came down and encircled those little ones about, and they were encircled about with fire; and the angels did minister unto them.
Jesus Christ blessed little children because He loved them. Show your love for a brother, sister, or friend by sharing a toy or helping them in some way.
December 6:
3 Ne. 18:6–7. 6And this shall ye always observe to do, even as I have done, even as I have broken bread and blessed it and given it unto you.
7And this shall ye do in remembrance of my body, which I have shown unto you. And it shall be a testimony unto the Father that ye do always remember me. And if ye do always remember me ye shall have my Spirit to be with you.
Jesus asked His followers to always remember Him, especially when partaking of the sacrament. Write in your journal how you feel about the Savior.
December 7:

December 8:
3 Ne. 23:1. 1And now, behold, I say unto you, that ye ought to search these things. Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah.
Jesus Christ commanded the Nephites to study the words of Isaiah. Ask a parent to read Isaiah 53:3–5 with you and talk about the Atonement.
[Isa. 53:3–5 3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4¶Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ]

Nativity Advent Calendar: December 4
December 4:
3 Ne. 12:9. And blessed are all the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
Jesus Christ promised to bless peacemakers. Sing a reverent Primary song (or Hymn) to help bring greater peace to your home.
I love the peace that the Hymns can bring to our home. Singing or just humming them has always brought me comfort and cheer. I also love the simplicity of the Children's songs and the truth they have in them. Music has always brought joy to my life and I feel so blessed that I have musical abilities.

Matt. 6:3–4. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly
Jesus Christ taught that we should quietly help other people. Write a kind note for someone in your family and hide it for him or her to find.

December 2:
3 Ne. 12:16. 16Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Jesus asked us to be examples to those around us. Set an example of service by helping with the dishes or cleaning or other chores at home.
Service is a great way of showing people you care. I love the feeling I get when I serve others, and I know they are blessed as much as I am. I think it is important to not only serve but to let others serve you. If you don't you may be denying them of blessings.

Nativity Advent Calendar: December 1
So I found a cute puzzle Nativity Advent calendar that I was going to put on my blog, i was going to put a different piece up every day until Christmas, but i couldn't figure out how to do one piece at a time so instead I am going to write each day's scripture and activity that i am going to participating in each day. This was actually included in the December 2000 issue of Friend. I hope everyone else will have fun participating in it too. The activities that are included each day are child oriented, but we could all do with bringing out our inner child more often. I also updated some of them because it is 10 years old. I hope to be able to post a new one everyday, but please forgive me if I don't.
December 1~ 3 Nephi 12:6 And blessed are all they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Jesus Christ taught that we will be blessed for seeking righeousness. Spend ten minutes reading scriptures or scripture stories.
